Meet The Founder
Priti Kumari: Weaving Change, One Artisan Family at a Time
An alumnus of NIFT Bangalore with a passion for fashion design, Priti Kumari always felt something was missing in her career. While she thrived in the world of contemporary fashion, she couldn’t ignore the conversations she had during visits to her hometown. It was there that she met traditional weavers — talented artisans whose skills had been passed down through generations, yet whose livelihoods were constantly under threat. The stories of meager wages, irregular work, and a lack of opportunity left an indelible mark on Priti’s heart. She knew she had to take action.
Driven by a vision to make a difference, Priti took a bold leap into the world of handlooms and textiles, stepping away from a familiar fashion career to empower these communities. Though she had no prior experience in the weaving industry, her background in fashion design became her greatest asset — blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics and market appeal.
“The idea isn’t about working with just a single weaver or a couple of artisans. It’s about embracing entire families, supporting them through every step of the process, and in doing so, expanding our own family — one weaver at a time,” says Priti Kumari.
Today, Priti’s unique blend of design expertise and social entrepreneurship has not only revived traditional Indian textiles but has also created sustainable livelihoods for countless artisan families. Her work is a reminder that true innovation lies in the fusion of heritage and modernity, and that when we choose to invest in people, we create a brighter future for all.
